One Tough Competitor
The owner of those Sushi Itto locations, Omar Yunes, received the 2015 Best Franchisee of the World (BFW) award. Competing against other franchises in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, France, Hungry, Italy, Mexico and Portugal, Yunes received the coveted BFW title by combining good business sense with great food and customer service. Yunes represented Mexico along side Iván Tamer of the Prendamex franchise. Yunes and Tamer competed again 34 franchisees within Mexico to win the title and represent their country in the international competition in Florence, Italy.
The Best of the Best
The BFW competition pits franchisees across industries against one another based on tenets of good business sense. It looks not only at the work performed and the bottom line results, but organizational and leadership character, plus improvements and innovations that better franchise operations.
Sushi Itto CEO Benjamin Cancelmo said Yunes’ locations are known as much for the tasty food as for their excellent service and hospitality. Yunes currently runs 13 Sushi Itto locations in six cities and towns within Mexico.
